What I built
- Live GPS tracking on a map, and resuming a hike after the app is closed.
- Geotagged photos, pedometer, compass and barometric elevation.
- Haptic feedback at every kilometre and an end-of-hike summary.
- One hook per sensor and a careful permission flow.
The challenges
01
Six sensors, one battery
Each sensor lives in its own hook that subscribes and unsubscribes cleanly, so it only draws power when needed.
